Ann had a deep spiritual presence that filled her life with joy and kindness; she was a gentle and loving soul. She loved shopping, traveling, the theatre, parties, entertaining friends, and especially her family. “Grams” adored her 9 grandchildren (Beth, Andy, Ben, Bekah, Stephen, Allison, Chris, Kelly, and Juliana) and 13 great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her children: Robert S. Coleman (and his wife, Terri), Harrisburg; Jeffrey S. Coleman (and his wife, Diane), Harrisburg; and Susan A. Coleman (and her husband, Darren Hosler), Harrisburg.

Ann was a trailblazer of her generation.  She had her pilot’s license at the age of 16.  After graduating from Ferndale High School in Michigan, she enlisted in the Navy during WWII and supervised the USNAS Brunswick control tower while stationed in Maine. It was there she met the love-of-her-life, Robert R. Coleman, who passed away in 1989 after 42 years of marriage.

Ann received her Preschool and Elementary Education Bachelor Degrees from Penn State University. She taught full time in Connecticut while her husband attended the Graduate School of Engineering at Yale University.

Ann had been a devout member of Paxton Presbyterian Church since 1950. She was a member of the church’s Kirkers Sunday School Class; involved in the planning of the Nursery School curriculum; taught at the Wednesday Night Youth Club; a former Deacon; and a former President of the Women’s Board several times.

Ann’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 am May 31st at her church where friends will be received at 9:30 – 10:30.  Burial with military honors will follow at Centre County Memorial Park in State College.
