On Thursday, February 16, 2017, Barbara A. (Floyd) Waite, age 76, Middletown, went to be with her Lord at Carolyn’s House, Harrisburg.
Born March 24, 1940 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth E. Keener and the late Ralph E. and Frances Floyd.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martin Matos and son, William Waite and her stepbrothers, Richard and Joseph Taylor.
She was a member of Valley Baptist Church in Middletown. Barbara enjoyed playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles and watching her favorite television shows: Pit Bulls and Parolees, The Voice, Chicago Fire and Law and Order. Mostly, however, she was a devoted mother who dedicated her life to her children and their happiness.
Surviving are her children: Ray Waite (and his wife, Janie), Elizabethtown, Dennis Waite, Elizabethtown and Cristina F. Diaz (and her husband, Alfredo), Highspire; 3 stepdaughters: Norma Matos, Scranton, Marta Matos, Boston and Jeanine Keener, Tucson, AZ; her daughter in law: Diane Waite, Middletown; sister: Patricia Kohnlein, Harrisburg; brothers: William Floyd (and his wife, Rose Ann), Enola and Ralph Floyd, Harrisburg; stepbrother: James Taylor; 8 grandchildren: Brandi Waite, Katie Waite, Amy Davis, Jason Waite, Ryan Waite, Alfredo Diaz, Jr., Erica Stumpf and Brandon Diaz; 10 great grandchildren; and her best buddy, her dog, Ginger.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Jerry T. Cowan, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shoop’s Cemetery, Harrisburg.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 11:30 am until the time of services.
