Betty Lou Irwin, 90, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Heritage Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Tower City.
Born February 18, 1927 in Wormleysburg, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelmina (Steward) Irwin and was a graduate of William Penn High School. Following graduation, she attended Penn State University, where she was a member of the Soroptimist Club and received her Bachelor’s Degree.
Betty had an eye for interior design and for many years owned Draperies by Irwin in New Cumberland.
She was well known and appreciated for her sense of humor and ability to keep everyone laughing and she lived her life like and episode of Mad Men, embodying the lifestyles of the ‘60s.
Although she never married or had children, she was a dear friend to many people and will be greatly missed.
As per her wishes, there will be no services, and burial at Calvary Cemetery will be held privately.
