Charles C. Morgan

Surrounded by his loving family, Charles C. Morgan, 93, Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the home of his son.  He was the widower of Marian L. Deckman Morgan, who passed away in 2006 after almost 57 years of marriage.

Born December 9, 1921 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Grace Potts Morgan and William D. Morgan; and was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Alma Morgan, his daughter, Wendy J. Alexander and two sisters, Ruth Morgan and Betty Roth.  He was a 1940 graduate of John Harris High School; served in the US Army during WWII for which he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart;  and retired from Cleveland Brothers as a Track Press Operator.

He had been an active member and trustee for the former Memorial Lutheran Church in Harrisburg and currently belonged to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed bowling with the church league, and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.  His greatest joy, however, came from caring for and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his children:  Charles D. (and his wife, Michele) Morgan, Newport, Thomas E. (and his wife, Susan) Morgan, King George, Virginia, Timothy A. (and his wife, Tina) Morgan, Harrisburg and Tammy L. (and her husband, David) Heim, Harrisburg; 6 grandchildren:  Adam Morgan, Stephen Morgan, Kent Morgan, Amanda Frank, Heather Morgan and Morgan Heim; one great grandson:  Landen Heim; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4200 Londonderry Road, Harrisburg, 17109 with the Rev. James Person, his pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill.  There will be a viewing at the church Tuesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his church or to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, 17110.
