Deana C. Proctor, 76, Harrisburg, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 20, 2022.
Born April 20, 1946 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late William D. Williams and Demetrice Barbour, and was also preceded in death by her grandson, David Elliott, sisters, Rachel Broadnex and Patricia Barbour; and her brothers, Lewis Barbour, Virgil Barbour and William Boyd Barbour.
Deana was retired from PennDOT and Polyclinic Hospital. She was a member of Love Church in Steelton.
In her spare time, she enjoyed bingo, Sudoku, crossword books, and reading, especially Terri McMillian and Danielle Steele. She was a fan of The Golden Girls, Law & Order and NCIS; and like listening to R&B, Gospel Music, and Ja Rule. Going to concerts and travelling were times she cherished, and took her first plane ride to Jamaica just a few years ago. Mostly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, who mostly just wanted to care for her family by cooking and baking.
Surviving is her husband of 22 years (but together since the 1980s): Charles Proctor; her children: Lori Elliott, Harrisburg; Roxanne Elliott, Harrisburg, James Elliott, Jr., Harrisburg and Deia Sherrod (and her husband, Lenard), Frederick, MD; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
