Deborah E. (Zaring) Atticks

Deborah E. (Zaring) Atticks, 56, of Rutherford, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 29, 2014.

Born March 15, 1958 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Alfretta (Henry) Zaring, was a 1976 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School and was a Senior Investigation Analyst for Crump Life Insurance Services.

Deb was a longtime member at Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, where she was active in many ministries, most recently the Outreach Committee.  She was a member and Past President of the Women's Civic Club of Hershey.  She loved being outside and enjoyed the beach, flowers and digging in her garden.  Mostly, she was loved spending time with family and friends.

Surviving is her husband of 37 years, Ronald L. Atticks; her son:  Douglas J. (and his wife, Megan) Atticks, Harrisburg; her daughter:  Lauren A. Atticks (and her fiancé, Adam Garber), Camp Hill; one brother:  Richard C. (and his wife, Michele) Zaring, Jr., Herndon, VA; three sisters:  Louise A. (and her husband, Tom) Bell, Chambers Hill, Patti L. (and her husband, Lloyd) Kepler, Harrisburg and Tina M. (and her husband, John) Cataldi, Harrisburg; 2 grandchildren:  Teagan P. Atticks and Frederick E. Atticks; and nieces and nephews. In addition, she is survived by the entire Atticks family and many friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. The family also wishes to express their gratitude to all those who took such loving care of Deb and her family during this difficult time.

Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, January 5, 2015 at her church, 165 N. 67th St., Harrisburg, 17111, with the Rev. Dr. Keith A. Blank officiating.  Friends will be received from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday, January 4, 2015 and Monday from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM, all at the church.  Burial will be in Shoop's Cemetery.
