On Friday, October 26, 2018, Edward E. Wanamaker, age 77, of Lower Paxton Township, went to be with his Lord and Savior while he was staying at Colonial Park Care Center.
Born April 21, 1941 in Essex, Maryland, he was the son of the late Edward E. Wanamaker, Sr. and Gertrude (Gramm) Wanamaker and was also preceded in death by his sister, Doris Durham.
Ed retired from Stroehman Bakery as a truck driver after 34 years. He was a member of the former Calvary Assembly of God and was currently attending Harrisburg First Assembly. Known to many as “Mr. Ed”, he enjoyed meeting with his buddies at the Colonial Park Mall for walking, talking and coffee and was a Nascar and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving is his wife of 13 years, Vickie C. (Hammaker) Wanamaker; his son, Michael Wanamaker, Minnesota; his 2 step-daughters, Michelle L. Jordanel (and her husband, Osei), Harrisburg and Heather M. Foltz (and her husband, John), Harrisburg; his grandchildren, Michael Stevens, Adrian Theurer, Justin Foltz, Kayla Foltz, Cyann Jordanel, and Nathan Foltz; his brother Richard Bainbridge; and his sister, Betty Jean Snyder.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 am November 10 at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street, Harrisburg where friends will be received at 10:00 am. The Rev. Terry Lamer of Harrisburg First Assembly will be officiating.
