Evelyn P. (Enders) Yanich

Harrisburg

Evelyn P. (Enders) Yanich, age 99, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at her home in Penbrook.

Born September 28, 1920 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Mason G. and Jennie (Bohner) Enders and was retired from Blue Shield.

Evelyn was a former member of State Street United Methodist Church and had been attending Penbrook Church of God where she was a member of the Over 90 Group and had been a regular helper with the church’s yearly Easter egg project. She was a member of the Lower Paxton Golden Agers and loved puttering around in her garden. An avid Penn State football fan, she was also a regular supporter of all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren’s sporting events.

Her beloved husband, Milan (Mike) Yanich passed away in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Enders and her sister, Celesta Banford.

Surviving is her son: Ronald Yanich (and Betty Lou), Harrisburg; 4 grandchildren: Ronald Yanich (and Kristina), Bossier, LA, Michael Yanich (and Carol), Harrisburg, Kenneth Yanich (and Dawn), Harrisburg and Timothy Yanich (and Diana "Dee"), Harrisburg; 12 great-grandchildren: Thomas Yanich (and fiancée, Ashley Steele), Matthew Yanich (and Catie), Joshua Yanich (and Kristina), David Yanich (and Daniele), Jasmine Yanich (and fiancé, Cody Dakin), Daniel Yanich (and Sedona Somers), Jackson Yanich, Christopher Romozi, Thaddeus Romozi (and Bailee), Tony D’Agostino, Lindsey Bashore (and Carl) and Austin Putric; 9 great-great-grandchildren: Cameron Yanich, Mason Yanich, Reece Yanich, Amelia Yanich, Harper Romozi, Lyllian Moran, Carter Janesko, Kylie Steele, and Nolan Steele; nieces and nephews; and her best friend and kitty, Tiki.

Services will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Penbrook Church of God, 2733 Canby Street, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Mark Halliday officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm. Burial will be in Churchville Cemetery.
