James Leroy Fries, II

Following a lengthy illness, James Leroy Fries, II, 50, of Middletown, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

Born September 11, 1973, in Baltimore, he was the son of Jeanne Fries Arevalo and was a 1991 graduate of Lansdowne High School, where he played football, lacrosse, and baseball. Later that year, he entered the Army and served his country for several years.

No matter where life took him, Jimmy remained fiercely loyal to his roots and his beloved Baltimore sports teams, including the Orioles, Ravens, and Colts (before they left Baltimore). He often reminisced about the joy of attending games with his grandfather, moments that would forever hold a special place in his heart.

Jimmy loved all music, and recently, found solace in the world of storytelling, spending time immersed in Audible books and capturing the essence of each tale with thoughtful notes. When health permitted, he delighted in taking rides on his cherished Harley, embracing the freedom of the open road.

Surviving is his mother, Jeanne; his brother and sister-in-law: Rick and Melissa Fessenden; his children: Courtney (and Matthew), Caeleigh, Bradley, Austin,  Alex, and possibly others: his precious grandson: Hunter, with whom he shared a special relationship which will be greatly missed; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Nanny and Poppy, and Sherry and Jack.

In honoring Jimmy's memory, the family has chosen not to hold services. Jimmy’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
