Janice A. (Neff) Oberholtzer, 91, Carlisle and formerly of Enola, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Claremont Nursing Home.
Born May 2, 1926 in Lemoyne, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Esther (Kline) Neff and graduated from Mechanicsburg High School in 1944 and Thompson Institute in 1946. On May 26, 1949, shortly after her 23rd birthday, she married Samuel Oberholtzer, who passed away May 14, 2007; just 12 days shy of their 58th wedding anniversary.
As friends in the Camp Hill Congregation, Jan and Sam were faithful witnesses for Jehovah for many years, and enjoyed visiting with people and preaching the good news until Sam’s health declined.
Jan was an avid bird watcher and feeder and will always be remembered for her shoo-fly and pumpkin pies.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, David.
Surviving are her sons: Stephen Oberholtzer, Enola and Michael Oberholtzer (and his wife, Sandra), Mechanicsburg; her sister: Beverly Orris (and her husband, Fritz), Mechanicsburg; 4 grandsons: Kristopher Oberholtzer (and his wife, Heather), Timothy Oberholtzer, Edward Oberholtzer and Thomas Oberholtzer; and 4 great grandchildren: Courtney, Alexander, Sara and Lindsey.
A memorial service will be held the Camp Hill Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018.
Burial in Rolling Green Memorial Park will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Camp Hill Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2 Willow Mill Park Road, Mechanicsburg, 17050.
