Joanne (Johanna) B. Castetter Beaver, 79, formerly of Kulpmont, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at her son's home in Harrisburg.
Born July 9, 1935 in Shamokin, she was the daughter of the late Edward Castetter and Adele Kalkaitus Covaleski, and was a graduate of Shamokin High School. She was a former member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Kulpmont and was retired from Lady Hope Dress Factory.
She was the widow of Donald Carleton Beaver. They were married May 31, 1954 and lived in Kulpmont for 56 years until he passed away in August, 2008 and she moved to Harrisburg with her sons in October, 2010.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Castetter and Stanley Covaleski.
Surviving are her sons, Donald R. Beaver, Arlington, VA; Jeffrey A. Beaver, Harrisburg; and Gregory J. Beaver, Harrisburg; her brother, David Covaleski, Fresno, CA; her sister, Beatrice Covaleski Perry, Shamokin; and one grandson, Ryan (and his wife, Samantha) Beaver, Nashua, NH.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, where she will be buried next to her beloved husband.
