John R. Long, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away suddenly while visiting his son in California on Thursday, May 7, 2015.
Born December 24, 1954 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Oscar B. and Cletes M. (Reich) Long. He was a graduate of Dauphin County VoTech and was a truck driver for Kuntz and Sons.
John loved traveling, especially to see his son in Eureka, CA; enjoyed camping and the beach; and loved all Philadelphia Sports teams, mostly his beloved Eagles.
He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda L. (Kreiser) Long, his wife of 36 years; his children: Jennifer Marie Long, Du Bois, John R. Long, Jr., at home and Ryan B. Long, Dinsmore, CA; his sister: Janell M. Salinger, Grantville; 2 brothers: Jerry L. (and his wife, Denise) Long, Colonial Park and Jeffrey B. (and his wife, Lisa) Long, Hummelstown; 2 grandchildren: Tori Eichler and Breigh Long; and his best buddy, his dog, Choco.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
