John W. “Chuck” Winters, Jr., 70, of Susquehanna Township, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 26, 2019 at his home.
Born September 16, 1948, he was the son of the late John W. Winters, Sr. and Florence (Peterson) Winters and was a retired custodian from Central Dauphin School District.
Chuck loved his job and all the children at Central Dauphin, and retired in 2015.
He enjoyed car races, both watching them at Silver Spring Speedway and Maple Grove Raceway, and when he wasn’t able to attend, on television. He was a wrestler in high school, and his love for wrestling, or “rasslin”, extended into being an avid fan of professional wrestling even to this day. As strong-willed as he was, his love for his family was evident. Hunting and fishing with his Uncle Jim and Jim’s boys, playing cards and board games with his sister and her family, and going to amusement parks with them all were special times in his life.
He will be dearly missed by his sister: Shirley Haugh (and husband, Bill), Harrisburg; his nephew (and best buddy): Paul Haugh, Harrisburg; his niece: Linda Meckley (and husband, Christopher) and their boys, Wyatt and Grayson, Harrisburg; his Uncle Jim Peterson (and Daisy) and his family, Harrisburg; his kitty, Angel; and other family members and friends.
There will be no services planned at this time.
Kimmel Funeral Home, Harrisburg, is handling arrangements.
