Johnnie Lee Gillon, Jr., 47, Harrisburg, passed away peacefully with his beloved family at his side on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at his home.
Born August 10, 1969 in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of Johnnie Lee Gillon, Sr. and Emma S. (Mills) Gillon and was a graduate of John Adams High School.
Prior to his illness, Johnnie took great pride in his business, Earthwise Cleaning in Carlisle.
Growing up in Cleveland, Johnnie was all boy. Playing basketball and football, he and his friends were inseparable. He still enjoyed sports, both playing and watching, and was very supportive of his children and their activities. He loved going out to shoot pool and go dancing to old school R&B and Rap and equally enjoyed staying home to watch movies. Mostly, Johnnie loved his family and will be missed greatly by them.
Surviving is his fiancée and best friend of over 14 years, Sarah L. Bass; his father, Johnnie Lee Gillon, Sr., Cleveland; his mother, Emma S. (Mills) Gillon, Harrisburg; 5 children, Kevin Willard, Harrisburg, Mercedes Gillon-Gantt, Georgia, Shanice Nelson, Harrisburg, Jahnique Gillon-Bass, Harrisburg and Jasere Gillon, Harrisburg; his brother, Jermaine Gillon, Water Valley, Mississippi; his uncle, Thomas Gillon; cousins, Steven Mills and Koni Gillon; friends, Orlando and Twan; his pups, Maddie and Rage; and many other family members and friends.
Services will be held 6:00 PM Friday, June 30, 2017 at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street, Harrisburg, 17103, where a viewing will be held from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that contributions be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
