Joseph K. “Tow Joe” Mahorney, 50, of Landisville PA, passed away on Sunday, October 30th, 2016, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He is proceeded in death by parents James W. Mahorney and Ruth M Nicholson, three sisters and one brother.
Joe has been a volunteer fireman since he was 15 years old. He started his passion in Maryland with Cottage City Fire Department and it followed him to Pennsylvania when he moved to Lancaster County. He had been a member to numerous fire companies throughout the years, and his passion ended with Hempfield Fire Department “Station 69”. He also had an impact on the community around Lancaster, PA as a dedicated tow truck driver for RC Towing. By many he was known as Tow Joe. He always had a smile on his face until the end. Being a prankster and jokester was what he did best.
He leaves behind 5 children: Jesica Mahorney, Scranton,PA, Amanda Mahorney, Scranton PA, Cory Mahorney, Lancaster Pa, Joseph Mahorney Jr, Landisville PA, Rhiannon Mahorney, Landisville PA and Step daughter Colleenia Potts Snyder, Lancaster PA. A total of 10 grandchildren and a long time companion Jennifer Becker also of Landisville PA. 3 sister and numerous nieces and nephews. Also his beloved side kick his pit bull who loved him so much.
Services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, November 13th, at Real Life Church of God, 6020 Lemon Street, East Petersburg at 2pm.
