Following a brief illness, Linda L. (Ganoe) Repa, 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Swatara Township with her loving daughter at her side.
Born September 3, 1944 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Lee and M. Irene (McAfee) Ganoe and was a graduate of John Harris High School.
She was the widow of Gerald Repa, who passed away on June 1, 2021 after 14 years of marriage.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law: Lee and Patricia Ganoe and James and Carol Ganoe.
Linda was retired after decades of work from Hershey Creamery, where she met her husband. Following her retirement, she dedicated much of her time doting on her grandchildren and ultimately her great granddaughter. She was raised in the Christian faith; and enjoyed watching Grey’s Anatomy, KUWTK, and the ID Network. Blessed with talent and creativity, Linda made beautiful jewelry and greeting cards with her own artwork and lettering. Her daughter fondly remembers her mom putting her and a table on Derry Street in Rutherford to sell her bracelets, in addition to selling them at flea markets. She loved all jewelry; gardening, collecting beanie babies, country music, Elvis, and making diamond art. Mostly, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her grandchildren were her life and her great granddaughter was her pride and joy. She may have been a stern but loving mother, but she was an indulgent Nana who cherished the time she spent with them.
Surviving is her daughter: Tammy L. Wise (and Calvin J. Wise, Jr.); her grandchildren: Calvin J. Wise III (and Janaya Brookin) and Lynnsey C.I. Wise (and Amir Turner); her great granddaughter: Millanna Nicole “Mimi” Wise; 3 step children: Gerald, Jr., Jennifer, and Beth; 7 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; her dear friends: Joanie Myers, Diane and Dave Barlup and Irma Colon; her honorary daughter: Stephanie Vargas(and Alan); nieces and nephews; and her beloved pup, Moosie.
A celebration of her life will be held at the convenience of the family.
Kimmel Funeral Home, Harrisburg, is handling arrangements.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 101 Erford Rd Suite 201, Camp Hill, 17011.
