Margaret A. (Kannegeiser) Stauffer
November 20, 1928 — March 27, 2017
Margaret A. (Kannegieser) “Peg”, Stauffer, 88, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at West Shore Pinnacle Health Hospital in Mechanicsburg.
Formerly of Harrisburg, she has been a resident of Kinkora Pythian Home in Duncannon. She was born November 20, 1928 in Harrisburg, daughter of the late Andrew and Cora (Hoover) Kannegieser and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Lee Williamson and her sister, Catherine.
Peg worked or volunteered at many places throughout the years, including Culhane’s, Triangle Press, the Heart Association and various other charities and was also an in house caregiver for some time. She loved flowers and art, and often combined the two with her paintings. A caring person, both humans and animals received her love at all times.
She is survived by her son: Andrew D. Balthaser, Harrisburg; 2 brothers: Andrew Kannegieser and Charles Kannegieser; one sister: Elizabeth A. King; 2 grandchildren: Theresa Golden and Jennifer Rose DeGiovanni; and one great granddaughter: River Marie DeGiovanni.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street, Harrisburg, with the Rev. John W. Green officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11:30 am until the time of services.
Contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, Inc., 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, 17111.
