Margaret J. “Jean” Blosser, 99, Lower Paxton Township, went to be with her Lord and Saviour Friday, September 14, 2018 at her home.
Born in Harrisburg to the late William and Nora (Seidel) Maurer, Jean would have turned 100 on April 21 next year. She was a graduate of John Harris High School and Central Pennsylvania Business School and was a retired teller for Pennsylvania State Credit Union.
On February 7, 1945, she married John A. Blosser while he was serving in the US Army. He passed away in 2002 after 57 years of marriage. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Hulsizer and Patricia Bolash.
Jean was a member of Crosspoint United Methodist Church and was a former member of Stephens Memorial Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Colonial Park AARP; the Lower Paxton and Colonial Park Golden Agers; and in 2003 received the Lower Paxton Golden Ager of the Year award. She enjoyed playing bridge in her Bridge Club and reading, but her greatest joy came from caring for her beloved family.
Surviving are her sons: George W. Blosser (and his wife, Barbara), Harrisburg and John R. Blosser, Harrisburg; 3 grandchildren: Jon Blosser (and his wife, Tami), Jennifer Brougher (and her husband, Jeffrey) and Michael “Mick” Blosser (and his wife, Shona); great grandchildren: Sydney and Jake Brougher and Maggie, Lily, and McKinley Blosser; and nieces and nephews.
Her life will be celebrated 11:00 am Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Crosspoint United Methodist Church, 430 Colonial Road, Harrisburg, with the Rev. David Biser officiating. Burial will be held in Rolling Green Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice for All Seasons, 280 S. Hill Drive, Grantville, 17028.
