Patricia Reardon Deitzel, 78, Newberry Township, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.
Born July 7, 1942 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Lechleitner) Reardon, was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, Harrisburg and was a former employee of Bell Telephone, Wolf Supply Company, and H&W Enterprises.
Patricia was the oldest of 9 children and was preceded in death by an infant brother, Dennis. She joins in heaven her beloved husband, Paul E. Deitzel, Jr., who passed away in October of last year after nearly 58 years of marriage.
Patricia was an avid reader of all books, newspapers and magazines. She enjoyed spending time outside, watching the birds at the birdfeeder, gardening and tending to her greenhouse. Planting and learning about plants were special hobbies of hers. A fan of Penn State Football, the Eagles and the Steelers, she could be often found in her special football chair, watching the games and also looked forward to watching the Olympics. Mostly, Patricia cherished time spent with her family. She and her sisters enjoyed many bus trips, more for the time together then the actual destination. She loved baking and cooking for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and generally loving on all of them. Her devotion to her family will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
Surviving is her daughter, Kimberly Pentz (Alan Reap); 2 sons, Paul Deitzel (Deidra) and Aaron Deitzel (Beth); 8 grandchildren: Joseph Pentz, Michael Pentz (Nicole), Emily Patricia Pentz, Jordan Deitzel (Becky), Gareth Deitzel (Emma), Kylie Deitzel, Matthew Deitzel, and Zachary Deitzel; 3 great grandchildren, Dominic Deitzel, Tristan Deitzel, and Lane Paul Pentz; brother, John Reardon (Rhonda); sisters, Margaret Hevel, Elizabeth Andrejack (Gary), Barbara Pouchan (Adrian), Eileen Baumbach, Kathleen Corrado (Lou) and Rosemary Conrad (George) and many other family members.
A funeral will be held 12:00 pm on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street, Harrisburg, with the Rev. David Biser, officiating. Burial will follow at Rolling Green Memorial Park. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm Monday.
COVID protocols of face coverings will be required.
