Rev. Dr. Kenneth E. Boldosser

Reverend Dr. Kenneth E. Boldosser, 95, formerly of the Harrisburg area, passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the home of his son in Alabama. He joins his beloved wife of 66 years, Arlene M. Boldosser, who passed away in 2010.

Born October 2, 1918 in Newville, he was the son of the late George and Lucetta (Marquart) Boldosser and was also preceded in death by his son and daughter in law, Darrell and Karen Boldosser.

Dr. Boldosser was a 1941 graduate of Findlay College and was among the first graduates of Winebrenner Seminary in 1944. He received an honorary doctorate from Findlay College in 1960. Following his ordainment, he served at the Mt. Carmel Church of God from 1941-1945 and the McClay Street Church of God, Harrisburg, from 1945-1962. At that time he was elected the first Conference Superintendent of the East Pennsylvania Conference of the Churches of God and served until his retirement in 1983. He was a former President and Vice Chairman of the General Conference; a member of the Board of Trustees for Winebrenner Seminary; was Dean of the Doubling Gap Church Camps, Chairman of the Evangelistic Campaign in Harrisburg and for two years wrote articles for the Church Advocate Publications.

Above all, he was a good husband, father and grandpa; and was a faithful minister of the gospel.

Surviving is his son, Donald (and JoAnn) Boldosser, Owens Crossroads, AL; his brother, William (and Dot) Boldosser, Newville; 4 grandchildren, Kim (and Stacy) Jones; Kenny (and Marsha Gulley) Boldosser; Donny (and Beverly) Boldosser and Kala (and Andy) Compton; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends, colleagues, and former parishioners, all of whom will miss him and his wonderful sense of humor greatly.

There will be a viewing on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Linglestown Church of God, 5834 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg and a viewing Saturday, December 7 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at United Church of God, 1211 Fairmont Drive, Harrisburg, 17112 followed by services at 11:00 am, with Rev. William Groff, Rev. Kevin Richardson and Rev. David Tressler officiating. Burial will be at Shoop's Cemetery.
