Richard R. House, 56, of Dauphin, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, June 14, 2014 following a long illness.
Born March 2, 1958 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Dr. Marshall W. House and his wife, Joyce A. (Jeffries) House; graduated in 1976 from Central Dauphin East High School and received his Bachelor's of Fine Arts from Tyler School of Art at Temple University.
Richard was a member of Robert Burns Lodge 464, F&AM and Harrisburg Consistory and truly enjoyed his Masonic activities. He saw everything in life with an artistic eye, whether it was his pottery or jewelry making, the precision he employed in the care of his lawn and garden, or restoring antique furniture. He loved going to the beach, anything Penn State, listening to jazz music and raising Golden Retrievers; but his greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved family.
Surviving is his high school sweetheart, and wife of 33 years, Deborah (Guelcher) House; his loving son, Wesley M. House and his "brother" and best friend, Peter Ross, Harpers Ferry, W. Va.
Friends and family will be received at 10:30 am Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street, Harrisburg where there will be a Masonic Service at 11:15 am. The funeral will begin at 11:30 am with Rev. Michael Knapp, officiating. Burial will be in Paxtang Cemetery.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Canine Rescue of Central Pennsylvania, PO Box 129, Dillsburg, 17109 or the CD Ram's Club, 1903 Colonial Road, Harrisburg, 17112.
