Robert P. Hetrick, Jr., 89, of Susquehanna Township, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2014 at his home.
Born July 3, 1924 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Robert and Reba (Heverling) Hetrick. He was an Army veteran of WWII; was a Master Plumber with his own company in Harrisburg; and retired as a Construction Inspection Manager for the State Department of General Services.
He was a member of Paxton United Methodist Church; Robert Burns Lodge 464, F&AM; Harrisburg Consistory; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Forest 43; Zembo Shrine Ushers Unit; VFW Post 148 and American Legion Post 1001.
His beloved wife of over sixty years, Doris E. (Boland) Hetrick, preceded him in death.
Surviving is his son, Robert Hetrick, III (and his wife, Ioleta), New Bloomfield; his daughter, Brenda Mandell (and her husband, Mark), Annandale, NJ; one brother, Sonny Klinepeter; 2 sisters: Doris Magaro and Roma Reed; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 12:30 pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in his church, 3550 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg, where there will be a visitation from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm.
Burial with military honors will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
