Robert H. Koller, Sr., 84, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.
Born June 13, 1937 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Henry and Barbara (Gartner) Koller and was a graduate of Central Dauphin High School.
He was retired as a Machinist at AMP, and then worked for Strings Coin Wrapping Company. He was the widower of Barbara R. (Hopple) Koller, who passed away in 2011 after over 51 years of marriage.
Prior to moving to Masonic Village, he was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church, Oberlin, where he was an usher, council member, Sunday School member and Maintenance Superintendent. He was a life member of the Lawnton American Legion Post 998, the Antique Automobile Club of America (Hershey Region) and the Pennsylvania Dutch Region AACA.
Bob was a 50 year 32nd degree Master Mason of the former Steelton-Swatara Lodge (now the Brownstown Lodge #666 F&AM, Hershey); was a Past Grand Tall Cedar in the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Forest 43, and was a member of the Capital Area Scottish Rite Club and Harrisburg Consistory.
He was a hard worker and a dedicated employee, who instilled in his son an incomparable work ethic. Bob loved working on cars, especially antique ones and enjoyed the time spent with the AACA.
Surviving is his son: Robert H. Koller, Jr. (and his wife, Evelyn); one brother: Henry Koller, Jr. (and his wife, Vicki) and one half brother: Adam Gartner.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Dr. Nathan Corl Minnich officiating.
There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 10:45 am, followed by a Masonic Service at 10:45 am. COVID-19 protocols will be requested.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.
