Santos Rosado Ruiz

Santos Rosado Ruiz, age 90, formerly of Puerto Rico, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Harrisburg Hospital.

Born March 29, 1929 in San German, PR, he was the son of the late Emilio Rosado and America Ruiz and had been a dock worker at the shipyard in Ponce.

He was the widower of Guillermina Rodriguez, his beloved wife, who passed away September 28, 2015 after over 64 years of marriage.

Santos lived in Puerto Rico until shortly after his wife passed away and moved to Harrisburg to be closer to his children.

He had been a member of Iglesia Apolostico Aposento Alto in Puerto Rico and attended Iglesia Luzy Esperanza after coming to Harrisburg. He was a man of faith dedicated to God and his family. Amongst his family was known as a jokester and a samurai with a machete that was used for slicing up coconuts and chopping down trees. Every morning he began his day with a cup of coffee while he read the newspaper and his bible. Active well into his 70s, he enjoyed walking and biking and any activity that involved his family. He also liked watching basketball and baseball on television and listening to Christian music.

Surviving are his children: Hector Ivan Rosado (and wife, Madeline Santiago), Puerto Rico, Marta Rosado, Harrisburg, Brunilda Rosado (and husband, Alfredo Cruz), Harrisburg, Santos Rosado, Jr. (and his wife, Selenia), Stone Mountain, GA, Ada Rosado (and husband, Miguel Biascochea), Harrisburg and Mariano Rosado, Harrisburg; 2 brothers: Emilio Rosado, Carlos Rosado and one sister: Milagros Rosado, all in Puerto Rico; 23 grandchildren; many, many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, October 18, 2019 at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street, Harrisburg with Rev. Hector Ivan Rosado and Rev. Angel Jimenez officiating.

Friends are invited to join the family for a viewing from 12:00 noon until the time of services.
