Virginia “Ginny” Lee Crews peacefully departed this life on January 23, 2025. She was born on September 20, 1947 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the eldest daughter of Joseph Holt and Amy Mae Crews (nee Leitner). She graduated from Central Dauphin HS in 1965. Virginia continued her education at Albright College, like her mother before her, and graduated from Penn State, for whom she always cheered. She was a career woman, with positions at AMP, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts (HERCO), and retired from UGI as the Superintendent of HR. A part-time resident of Lewes, Delaware, she forged new friendships and became a member of the Yacht Club and Bethel UMC, which she called “God’s Beach House.”
Affectionally known in the family as “Sissy,” she is survived by her sister, Annetta Mae McCauslin (nee Crews), her “favorite niece” Lacey Mae McCauslin Rapini, and “favorite nephew” Jesse Lee McCauslin. She was a United Methodist and a member of Park Street Shared Ministry and Charlton UMC. She believed in family, friends, service to others, and knew how to have a good time!
Contributions may be made in Virginia’s honor to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation or Four Diamonds.
We invite you to join us in honoring her beautiful life on February 18, 2025 at Kimmel Funeral Home, 2001 Market Street in Harrisburg. Visitation begins at 10:00 am with a Service at 11:00 am.
If you wish, please share a copy of a favorite recipe that reminds you of Ginny.
