After valiantly battling many health issues, Wallace L. Overturf, 64, of Chambersburg, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born December 4, 1951 in Ellington, New York, Wally was the son of the late Wallace F. Overturf and Phyllis V. (Smith) Reynolds. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Overturf, and sisters, Maxine Brown and her husband, Lawrence and Kay Shutters and her husband, Lawrence.
Wally was a man of the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and camping were some of his greatest joys. He loved NASCAR, especially Dale and Dale, Jr.; at one time drove at the State Line Speedway and enjoyed going to the races with his family.
He always dreamed of traveling, and not long ago purchased a motorcycle he had hoped to ride down the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive in Virginia.
Mostly, Wally loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and Dixie, his dog. He was also eagerly anticipating the upcoming birth of his first great-grandchild, Weston.
Surviving are his sons: Paul E. Overturf, Sr., Chambersburg (and his fiancée, Kerri Shockey and her daughter, Ashee Fortune) and Jamie L. Overturf, Warren; his daughter: Crystal M.
